Melamine is a popular material for making tableware, as prints reproduce beautifully on a melamine surface. Melamine is more durable than plastic and lighter than porcelain, which is a nice feature especially for children's dishes. However, melamine breaks when dropped or subjected to a hard impact.   

Melamine dishes are recommended to be washed by hand. They must not be placed in the microwave or oven, as the melamine surface is damaged by high temperatures. Melamine dishes can usually withstand machine washing on the top rack of the dishwasher, as long as the washing temperature does not exceed the product's heat resistance (the upper limit for our melamine dishes is 60 °C). However, hand washing is recommended to keep the dishes in good condition for longer.
