Ninny was first introduced in the Tove Jansson's story The Invisible Child and the Fir Tree in year 1962. Ninny had been afraid of her sardonic aunt for a long time, so she turned invisible. Too-Ticky desided to bring her to the Moomins in Moominvalley, thinking that the gentleness and kindness of the Moomins could make Ninny visible again.
