Moomins’ clothing

Moomins don’t wear clothes, although Moominmamma is always wearing her apron and Moominpappa never parts with his beloved top hat. However, when swimming, the Moomins wear bathing suits.

The iconic illustrations of Moomin books fascinate both young and old readers

Tove Jansson (9 August 1914 – 27 June 2001) always considered herself primarily a painter. Jansson's most significant visual artistic productions are public commissioned works and decorative paintings for, among others, the Aurora children's hospital, schools and kindergartens.

Moomin stories were published during Jansson's lifetime as novels, picture books and comics, and they have already been translated into about fifty languages.

The international popularity of Moomins and the influence they’ve had

The Moomins' popularity is certainly partly based on the fact that the Moomins are inherently benevolent, care about everyone and have a curious interest in the world around them.

The world needs tolerance and individual freedom, so the Moomins are characters that many good-natured people can easily identify with.

All the Moomin books we have can be found in the Moomin books section of our Moomin shop.
